Abey Showroom Sydney
This thoughtfully designed showroom for Abey features a double-height, north-facing glass facade, providing an alluring backdrop for presenting their premium products. The space transforms into a canvas, inviting exploration and appreciation of the dynamic interplay between design elements and natural light.
Despite the abundant natural light flooding through double-height, north-facing windows, capturing this showroom's essence posed a unique challenge. The harsh, reflective glare during that time of year prompted a technical approach to execute the creative vision.
The client’s brief is for viewers to envisage each set within their personal spaces. Various strategies were employed to master the light. Windows were meticulously flagged to tame reflections from street elements, direct light was softened, and negative fill was added to sculpt contrasts and accentuate product shapes.
Some shots were dedicated to showcasing the showroom's grandeur, contrasting the subdued editorial tone employed when highlighting individual sets. To distinctly separate these aspects, the showroom's inbuilt lights were dialled in to balance the ambient light for glamour and sparkle upon the space, accentuating each product.
The careful manipulation and control of light help guide the narrative of the physical space and invite viewers to experience the ambiance and mood ingrained within the showroom's design.
